About Neer Mahal
Neermahal (Twijilikma Nuyung) (meaning “Water Palace”) is a former royal palace built by Maharaja of Tripura Kingdom Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Debbarma of the erstwhile Kingdom of Tripura, India in the middle of the lake Twijilikma (Now known as Rudrasagar) in 1930 and was completed by 1938. It is situated in Melaghar, 53 kilometers away from Agartala, the capital of Tripura. The palace is situated in the middle of Rudrasagar Lake and assimilates Hindu architectural style
Umananda Devaloi is a Shiva temple located at the Umananda Island (Peacock Island) in the middle of river Brahmaputra just opposite the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup or the Kachari Ghat in Guwahati.
It is known as smallest inhabited riverine island in the world. Country boats that are available on the bank of Brahmaputra take the visitors to the island. The mountain on which the temple has been built is known as Bhasmacala.It was built in 1694CE in the order of King Gadadhar Singha but was broken down by an earthquake in 1867.
To witness the falls, which is beautiful beyond expression, you will have to pass a not-so-intense physical ability test. You will need to trek 200 meters stretch of almost a 75 to 90-degree angle. The villagers have made the path using bamboo trees, and so we would suggest you wear shoes which has an excellent grip.
